By the beach one fine night,
With the stars shining brightly,
The Lord stands by your side,
Holding your hand tenderly.

As you walk along the path of your life,
Two sets of footprints in the sand.
Images flash across the sky,
Showing your whole life as His human.

When the sky was clear and beautiful,
You had straight As and a baby child.
You felt relieved and joyful,
That the Lord was with you every mile.

Yet when the sky rumbled and roared,
You struggled and suffered pain.
In confusion to the Lord you called,
Because only one pair of footprints remained.

Why have You left me alone,
When I needed You the most?
Where were You when I moaned,
Where were you when I fely lost?

Oh my child do not despair,
Of you I have always been taking care.
Those times you fell and came to harm,
I was craddling you in my arms.
